Fuel guage is WAY off!

I tried to find an answer on this issue and couldn't find anything....

When I fill up my Jeep the fuel guage never goes near full anymore and is down to 1/2 tank by 60 miles... when i get around 210 a tank now.

I am guessing that I will have to drop the tank and replace the fuel level sensor? or is that attached to the fuel pump as one unit? .

sorry 99 TJ 4cyl 5 speed if that helps.

It's all one unit,

you can see the lever coming off of the whole fuel pump assembly. Oh, there was a member here who also wrote up an extremely helpful guide to replacing it.

Thanks for the help.. .that is what I figured... Can that be repaired or do I have to buy the whole dam thing?

The good thing is once it gets past 1/2 tank it is more acurate, which is the part I worry about the most! so I may deal with it for a while.....

Have you crunched your stock tank upwards with a rock? You might have bent/jammed something.
