Getting ready to order a new DS and a SYE

I am going to be ordering both through Savvy. Anything I need to know before I order? I currently have some sort of 4 inch lift on the Jeep. It looks fairly cheap. I will be replacing it after the new year with their 4 inch kit that includes the aluminum arms and anti rock system. Any advice before I purchase would be appreciated.

Does it come with everything needed to do the job? Minus the tools obviously. Just any other tips suggestions on purchasing if there are any.

Do not put in a new DS and SYE until you get the lift installed or you may be buying another DS to get the proper length, although since you will be getting a Tom Wood shaft he will lengthen it or shorten it for $60 for the life of the shaft. I am running the exact combo in my Jeep and it works great.

Get a set of lock ring pliers. It will make the install easier.

My basic general advise to anyone is do all your research and get all the knowledge you can before you order anything as important as a lift kit and drive shaft. Otherwise you will toss money all over the place trying to correct your blunder. In plain language if you don't know what your doing then either pay to have the right person do it or study like heck and know exactly what you are getting into. Not to put anyone's abilities down...I just don't want to see guys struggle and waste money and ultimately be very unhappy with the results.

DS length will depend on the length between the yokes. Although you may have a 4" lift it most likely is not exactly a 4" lift. When I got my combo I spoke with Tom Wood and gave him the exact dimensions between the yokes in both the X and Y directions. He was surprised that the dimensions were different than what he normally sees and even asked me to double check the dimensions which I did, but I knew it was correct. I did a tummy tuck at the same time. If you ever do a tummy tuck remember that with a Tom Wood shaft he will lengthen it for $60 for as long as you own his shaft.

X2 on researching it out tons before you spend a dime. Too many people buy something and it is not exactly the right product and they end up spending more money fixing a problem that was created by a lack of planning. Ask any and all questions needed.
