Getting some squeeling from the T-Case Sounds BAD!!!!

Well as I said above. My Transfer case is squeeling really bad. It is every so often. Not consistent. It sounds like a spring scraping (dragging) along rotating metal. Could this be the D-Line U-Joints? I checked the T-Case linkage. I am at a loss.

Thanks for your input in advance.

Brandon

Brandon,

Pull your front drive shaft and go for a spin. If it goes away you found the problem. If that isn't it then pull the rear drive shaft and go for a spin as long as you aren't locked up in the front. Should help you source out your problem.

Well I did what you said and the front removed was the answere. I believe it is the U-Joints. But I think it was the rear joint on the front shaft. There is a metal ball between two U-Joints. There is bare metal in there. Here are the pics. Is this normal or am I missing a boot.

Looks normal. You can get a replacement centering ball or just do what I do and drop it off at your local driveline shop. I think it is around 100 to get it fixed up good as new.

If the centering ball is going would that cause the scraping/dragging sound?
