Going thru steering box's......

Well im in need of another steering gear box, I just replaced the original box, less than 10,000 miles ago and now this one is trashed.

I hear a Durango box will fit, and is a good upgrade. What year(s) will work, and anyother info i need to make it work?

A '99 Durango steering box works great as a replacement. IIRC, it's a direct bolt-on replacement. How big are your tires?

That's very unusual for only 33" MT/Rs. Any unusual steering modifications? But still, the '99 Durango box would be a good choice.

What's breaking - the housing or the innards?

Are you using a steering box brace?

I found one once where the housing broke - the mounting for it wasn't straight - the pod area was factory welded crooked. When the box was tightened down it put a twist to the housing. A few shims got it mounted straight.

Ok so what steering box should i get a '99 Durango or a Heavy Duty PSC ? The PSC will run me $400, the Durango $179. I know the Durango one is better than stock, but so far with my experiences im not having any luck with the shitty reman. parts. Ive done this 2 times in 10,000 miles and am completly pissed about all of it.
