grinding to a stop?!

Hey all,

When I bring my '03 to a stop I get a deep grinding crunchy noise for about the last three or four feet. This is anytime I have a small amount of speed to reduce... but not if I am lightly coasting to a stop. I had the brakes checked and they seemed fine... so is there a suspension-related compression that might give that noise/feel when bringing Becky to a halt?

Thanks

That still sounds like a brake pad issue, did a good brake shop check them? Is there plenty of material on the pads and are the rotors in good condition?

Yes, yes, and... yes. I know, perplexing. But I may just spring for another set o'pads to prevent unseen damage. No warping, no pits, no radial scratches... I'll check back when I learn more.

thx!

Smile brakes

Could be the amount of metal in the pads causing this. Some brake pads are harder than others and will cause this when you go to slow down and stop. Try to find pads without metal in them if you can-probly have to go to some off breed brand to do this. There are ccompanies out there that are using different products to try to eliminate the metal in them.
