Hard top window / tailgate

I went to wash my jeep and noticed that there is a gap between my tailgate and hard top. The jeep is a 2003 tj and the top is off of a 2000 tj. I know they changed the tops and tailgates in 2002 but to my knowledge they should still line up.

How big of a gap? I know the rear window on my dads HT on his TJ has never exactly been quiet. It bangs around in the back. You can try shifting the hardtop back and see if that helps.

PICS? There's a weather seal/gasket thing at the bottom of the back glass that would probably lead to a gap if it were missing...

Pics showing this gap would help a lot. I'm guessing your hard top is aligned right, you'd notice other problems if it weren't, like your doors not shutting right and wind noise at the windshield.

If the weather strip is missing, pretty good size gap will be there.

Weather seal is not missing ... But I do notice wind noise and the passenger door is slightly tight. I've had the jeep for a while but just recently acquired the top

That passenger door looks much tighter to the top than the drivers side. Are the back corners square between the top and body? I was under the impression that tops for pre `03 Wranglers did not fit the later years.

97 to 06 tops are interchangeable.
I have a 2000 hardtop for my 03.
