Hardtop clamps keep popping off

Im having a problem keeping my hartop clamps that attach to the windshield on. They were really loose when I got the jeep, so I put some weather stripping on the clamps and that seems to do ok, but now its not working. I have to redo it every couple of days. Are there aftermarket clamps out there? If not what are some solutions?

Do you still have the rubber strip going across the windshield? Mine was REALLY tight... I don't see how it could wear out that easily.

Are you 100% sure you are clamping them down right? haha.. I am not meaning to make it sound like you are not doing it right or anything, I just can't think of what else it would be. You able to post up a pic of them clamped down.. ? something maybe up close from the side of the mount so we could see if it looks normal still..

I will take some tomorrow. I did notice that the passenger side hole for the clamp on the windshield frame is a little rounded over. Would it be safe to pull that out or should I take it to a body shop to have them do it?

i had the same problem with my 97, appears the windshield frame was worn, I ended up taking thing sheet metal and making a shim to put around the opening so when it clamped it was a little tighter, seemed to work fine
