Headlight switch

Has anyone swapped out their stock headlight switch for a different type? I'm not a fan of the push pull.

I'm sure someone's got a wiring diagram of it and you might be able to wire it up. That's not me though.

seems like a lot of work, just to delete the push/pull knob. i guess it was 2001 & up that switched the headlight switch to the multi function switch.

Even on a 98 the headlight switch assembly does a bit. Look at the wire harness that is attached to it. It controls more tha the headlights.

You could replace it, but you will end up with multiple switchs instead.

I can't remember a vehicle that did not have a push/pull headlight switch.

I rather have something like this than a pull stick. Just don't know what it take to convert... Thats 1 more thing on my to-do list

I think it would be great to have the high/low beam switch on the floor like the cj does.

I have t taken it apart yet but something like what vipertek showed would be alright with me. Or having it on the floor. That'd be awesome.

It's a rectangle with about 10 pins coming out of the top of it. You'll need to find what each pin controls, and somehow tap into the existing female plug and fabricate your switch.

I've changed one out, they aren't very fun to do. I'm still trying to figure out why you would want to go through so much trouble because of it. Haha

On second thought. I'll just deal with the push pull. Just thought it would be cool to use a different switch for it.

I like the old push/pull on my 97 - Kinda unique now - Don't know of any new vehicles that still have them.
