Headlights won't work on my 97 TJ

Allright kids... I'm a new here, but please help. I'm at wits end.

Went and helped some friends move last week and when we were done, went to drive home and the lights on my TJ wouldn't turn on.

Now, it's just the headlights that won't work, everything else works fine (markers, blinkers, brakes, cluster).

My knowledgeable friend and myself have been trouble-shooting for a couple days now, and we're stuck. I bought a Haynes manual (I know I know... who knew you couldn't find a Chilton manual in Colorado), but it is just too vague for any of us to make sense of.

All the fuses are good, relays are operating, headlamps are good, AND I replaced the Headlight Switch. Still nothing.

We don't have power coming to the switch for the headlights. So can anybody help:

1) Where is the power coming from for the headlight switch? (so we can troubleshoot from there) We know it's a green/white or green bringing it in... but where does it come from?

2) This may be asking the same question, but can anyone please explain the whole headlight/switch/dimmer circuit better to us? I.E. From power to dimmer to light switch to high beam driver indicator and if there are any relays on the circuit.

Thanks guys (and girls) for any and all help. I really don't want to have to send this to a shop.

Mike

Thanks Buster. I actually got that file sent to me by a member of another board I posted to.

But thanks, that link in invaluable. You gonna leave it up for a while?

Headlights

Ok so I have the same problem as the first poster, in my 2000 TJ. I cannot find a solution, the only thing i haven't traced for issues is the dimmer switch.
I am getting power at the headlight plugs on the purple (low beams) but low reading on the red. What could my problem be? If its the dimmer switch is that the bottom harness part of the blinker/high beam toggle? ANY help would be really appreciated
