Heater is possessed

I went this morning and drained my radiator in preparation for winter. I drained and filled several times.. after doing this and nothing else my heater vents blow nothing but completely cold air.. My engine is running somewhat cooler ,maybe 20 degrees ,since flushing but the top heater hose is still quite warm. This tells me the thermostat is working.. its almost as though the water isnt circulating or something but the engine runs cool?? What is this BURPING I caught a glimpse of..?

Fill your rad to the top and start your engine with the cap off and let it come up to temp. Fluid will start to circulate when the thermostat opens and the air should purge out of the system. You may get some spillage but if you have a funnel that you can press into the filler neck it helps. I have a funnel that I cut the end off of just enough so the taper friction fits into the neck.

It also helps if you can park on a slope putting the radiator higher.

Also you can squeeze the top rad hose at the highest peak and helps to push the air bubbles out.
