Heater not working but AC works

I have a 98 tj sport and the heater is no longer blowing hot air, but the ac is blowing cold. I've heard it can be several things. Anyone else with this problem? I'm thinking I will replace the blower motor. Would the ac still be blowing cold if the blower motor was bad? Any help would be appreciated

Does the blower motor work for both ac and heat? If it does its not you're blower motor, it's probably a clogged heater core

I just ha the same issue. take off the hoses going into the firewall on the passenger side take a garden hose put it on the lower connector and it will flush out all the garbage clogging the heater core out the top connector. Reconnect and you have heat

Another vote for flushing the heater core. Flush it both ways till it runs clear in both directions.
Make sure you do this where you won't upset anyone by making a mess - the junk that gets flushed out will astound you.
I find it easier to disconnect the heater hoses at the front of the engine.

And dont let your pets (if you have them) close to what your doing. That stuff is lethal to them

That did the trick, hot air is back. No more freezing in the snow up north.

I tried this on mine this morning and it worked for me as well. Back flushing mine also shut my service engine light off. I had about 40% flow through mine before flushing it. Thanks guys

Have an 04 X, Anyone have any issues with the air pressure blowing out your vents? my A/C and heater work fine, but doesn't seem to blow out as hard as it should. Plus sometimes if i turn the knob to go full blast it turns it off and i have to click a lower setting for it to start blowing again. I was thinking it was the switch panel itself, but that won't fix the air pressure blowing through the vents....

I tried to flush mine and the water would only flush through the top hose when I reverse the process by putting the hose to flush through the bottom hose the water will not go through does this make any since. I don't under stand how the water can go through one way and not the other

Its plugged up bad then. Keep flushing it and maybe put some kind of cleaner in it and let it set for a while. I used simple green and let it set with the hoses elevatd for about an hour. Some have said vinegar works good .
