I have a 2006 Jeep wrangler X automatic transmission. never had any problem with it since i bought it. everything is working great. havent changed anything on it except a front bumper and winch but that was about 5 months ago. this morning got in the jeep to go to work, had it in 4 wheel drive due to 10 inches of snow we got last night. Everything was fine. got in it at 10am this morning to leave work and as i was going down the street i noticed it wasnt shifting out of 1st gear... then about 3 seconds later the CEL light came on. it shifts into park, neutral, reverse and all the forward gears. it goes into 4WD fine and works... but it wont shift out of 1st gear. i get it up to 3k rpm at about 30 mph and it just wont shift. so i kept it at 2k rpm on the way home about 25 mph. I pulled the codes off and they all said "incorrect 1st gear ratio". this sounds like a pretty big problem to fix. anyone else have this issue and what they had to do to fix it?
