Go to the Jeep dealer and order a couple of LCA brackets (or perhaps you can get an upgraded set on-line)....disconnect the LCA's, measure and mark the mounting locations for the old ones, grind them off. Reconect the LCA's to the new mounts, tack weld them in place, verify your measurements...complete the welds. touch up with spray paint.

I'm gonna disagree. I'd suggest buying an after market bracket that won't bend or break again. You can get this one from Bluetorch for less money than a replacement bracket at the dealership.

$79.99

Pending your control arm is straight I'd run a bolt through the bracket and control arm then tack the bracket on then burn it into place once the control arm was removed.

Driving on that bracket can cause serious problems to your health and those around you. :D

very common problem .. i have welded on new aftermarket mounts for many people ...

go with some beef, not the factory one.

3/16 or larger ... 1/4 is nice ... but be sure to account for the added width when you place / weld them on ...

ie ... if you measure 12" for the stock 1/8 bracket from the inner c to the outside of the bracket, your 1/4" are twice as think .... so your new measurement would be 11 7/8 for your beef bracket ...

i think i got that right ...

will .120" matter?? probably not. better to be safe though, especially on suspension parts.

EDIT: go with the BTF parts ... they are well worth it. Dan does quality stuff ... but make sure they have them in stock, they moved recently.

if your gonna weld then why not the curries and box them in? of course if you do not have any metal laying around then BTF would be the way to go. I'm looking for a 8.8 axle and will need a set of brackets so this thread is helpful. :punk: keep the info coming.
