Hello, fellow Tj Owners.

I have had this issue for around 4 months now.

Every so often My battery gauge will drop to the 1-4 mark and my check gauge light will go on. I pulled the code with the key jingle.

I have taken it into a battery store and autozone and they don't pull any codes and alternator and battery test fine. It starts like a dream every day and never hesitates.

I have no idea what to do before I take it into the stealership :(

Any help would be greatly appreciative.

I have checked all connections, cleaned all cables of dust. I have some corrosion on the cables, but that is about it. About 3 months ago I replaced the battery since the battery has been in since 2005, and put in a new stereo and want to fix this before upgrading the stereo more.

Thanks

David

I was going to help you out untill I read the "Stealership" comment.

P0622 is a charing system code involving the feild control circuits, check all the wiring and connections between the alt and PCM if their all okay check your engine ground makes sure its clean and tight from there you'll have to test your altenator output sommewhere ( pull it off and take it Autozone ) if thats okay you may have an internal pcm problem.

Or you could bring it to me to diagnose for you.....I'm here at the "stealership"

Are you in Tucson? Also taking it in to the dealership would be my last resort. I kinda didn't want to pay a fee just for looking at it.

Bump for any more suggestions?

Its not the alternator,the battery.

Terminals is shiny as can be!

Only other thing I can think it could be is a bad wire somewhere. My ground looks and is clean. Maybe the wiring in the wiring harness to the alternator.

What colors of the cables do what that plug into the alternator.

I read that the green was a field ground?

This issue is driving me bananas!
