HELP. I broke a tap inside one of my frame holes where tow hooks go in.

I was trying to use a tap to re-thread my worn and rusty holes to put some tow hooks on, and the thing broke inside! That is like carbon steel or something, because I broke 2drill bits just trying to start a pilot and extract it with the extractor bit. It just laughs at hammers and other things, bending them like they are butter. How do I get it out?

You might be able to get it out with a tap extractor;
Tap Extractor-Google Shopping

If you are lucky there may be a local retailer that sells them.

Otherwise, safety glasses, hammer and punch and try to break it apart, or a cutting torch.

Some quality Cobalt drill bits might be able to drill it out. You can pretty much forget about salvaging the original hole for threading.

Your other option is to take it somewhere and have a professional do it.
