Help me find ROUND tail lights!

I really like the round tail lights that some people put on their TJs. There are products that look solid like these: Off Road Only LD-RRW2 - Off Road Only LiteDOT Taillights for 76-06 Jeep® CJ, Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec , but cost $200!! I really don't want to pay that much. there are other products I've found on amazon like these: AutoSmart KL-25105C-R Red Flush-Mount LED Stop/Turn/Tail Light with Clear Lens : Amazon.com : Automotive which would look great with my silver tj, but I just have an issue with them not having backup lights... I really want some affordable ones that also have backup lights. If anyone knows have to maybe install red and white leds into the clears lenses that would be cool. Or just post a link of another product. Thanks!

I'm planning on buying Maxxima flushes. Around $30-40 a piece, but they have integrated backup lights.

Check out etrailer.com. They have a wide selection of LEDs. I got my 4" flush mounts from Harbor Freight on sale for $12 each.

They don't have integrated backup lights but that's not an issue for me. I prefer separate 55w mini lights back there.
If I could do it over I'd get the surface mount like these only 4" round.

They are only 3/4" deep and required 4 screws instead of a 4" hole in the tub.

I just bought round LED tail lights from any common automotive parts store such as napa or o rileys etc, and then wired those in to my reverse

Here are some surface mount "not flush mounts" they only stick out about 1/4" and are held on by 3 bolts. $11 plus $4 shipping I think for each. Made by maxxima. And this is what I did for back up lights. $4 free shipping eagle eye led lights.

This is exactly what I'm looking for! What all did it take to complete the entire setup? Any thing like wiring harnesses or screws I have to buy separately?

Easy just run the wires to your reverse lights. Nothing else needed

Yup....I did the amazon ones too....and then the small LED white lights. Bright as hell and wiring was easy. Three wires for the brake lights and two for the back up light.

Something like these. Takes the place of the upper bolts.

I cut the plugs off or the OEM tail lights and wired them to the surface mount lights. So I made them plug-n-play. The reverse lights I wired to the back up light wire and a ground. Im very happy with it. You will need bolts of your choice.

If you have an older tj you can do a mod to the flasher relay by cutting a specific trace.
Or you can simply buy a new flasher relay designed for LED.

I cut the fast blink tracer on my '98 and son's '00 and both reverted to stock blink frequency.

Mines a 00 and it didn't blink as fast as if a bulb was out but it didn't blink like stock either.
A new relay was like $12 so I'm fine with it.

Yes they do a couple months in and sections go out tap them they come back on . I got sick of them and did not want to get pulled over because of a high dollar pice of junk . They have been sitting on a shelf for the past few years . Good choice staying away JUNK !

I've heard they fixed the issue with the circuit boards. No first hand experience though.

The issues remain. I have the new generation. Want em? I'll sell em to ya cheap. Nothing grinds my gears more than messed up lights. I installed them in October and was very careful about tightening them, since that's what i assumed killed my first gen set. NY December I had intermittent missing markers in the ring. Now my passenger side has only 9 working LEDs in the brake section. As an added bonus, the clear ones for reverse aren't anywhere NEAR as bright as my stock incandescent ones were. Totally overpriced and useless product. Great idea, but flawed and failed. They are also unable to be fixed, since they use a gel to seal the boards, like 1970's technology.
