Help, my blinker went out!!!!!

My blinker went out the other day, on the back left of my car, drivers side...I pulled out bulb and it is an 1156, I went out and bought a new bulb and still no luck...is there a fuse that may be blown??? I am doubting this since the only problem I have is with the blinker but I don't know...I checked the fuse box near the engine and it is labeled and nothing except exterior lights struck me as something it could be although if it was that I would imagine all of my lights would be out...Is it a fuse in my glove box fuse box??? I don't know. Please help, I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler sport.

Thanks guys

I had my pass rear turn light go out and the issue was that the bolts that hold the light it were rusted and it wasnt getting a good ground connection. Cleaned them off and it worked again. Easy and cheap place to start.

Thanks

Thanks, I will be sure to try that, but I am questioning things because the tail light still works, it is just the blinker. Let me know if anyone has any other ideas.

Well for one an 1156 is a single element bulb used for the backup light only. Your brake/turn lights are an 1157 which is a dual element bulb.

You're out of blinker fluid!

Do the flashers work? Do you hear the relay switch when you flip them on?

I don't know, troubleshooting electrical problems is tough online. Try giving it a good wack with your hand or hit a speed bump hard. Perhaps it's a contact? The bolt suggestion is a good start.

I tried an 1157 as was advised to me by Auto Zone but the bulb did not fit. I went back and returned the bulbs and I brought the old bulb with me, it was labeled 1156. I bought an 1156, it fit... Now I guess what I am going to try to do tonight is pull out the bolt holding the tailight to the car and see if its rusted and try to make a better connection. I know there are two bolts but how can my brake light work and my turn/reverse signal not work if that is the problem??

Are you sure you are looking at the right bulb in the first place? The back up light is the 1156, brake and turn are 1157. Unless someone has rigged up some weird tail light on yours...

A 3157 has a flat plastic base btw, not round metallic. But it is a dual filament bulb at least.
