Does anyone have ant suggestions on fixing the zipper on the soft top rear window? The zipper pull broke in half and the window is half zipped closed and half open.

Thx,
JPM

bring the rear window to a canvas place that stitches canvas for boats or a place like that they can snap a new zipper on there for you probably wont even charge you.

if it is the pull that is broken ( happend to me on my 00 sahara) i had to put a heavy duty paper clip through the hole to get it zipped shut and then i had it fixed a year later at a convertable top shop. the paper clip worked fine i just wanted a new pull put back on it.

Some people replace zipper pulls with key rings (usually the people who resort to paper clips are CJ owners - but they fix everything with duct tape, a hammer and bailing wire. Nice to see some Mcguyvering on a TJ!)

A boat canvas shop is a great place and a very good suggestion, especially if the zipper is worse off than just a broken pull.

We dont' sell replacement zippers, but can point you in the direction of a company who does. Call our customer support team and ask for the BD Company phone number. I don't have it here at home.

I went to a local marine shop and they hooked me up with a new zipper for free. Then again, I went almost 2 yrs without the window because I was too lazy to get it fixed!
Good Luck.

In the future, put WD-40 or something of the like on the zipper. It will help it zip and unzip easier and put less stress on the parts.

another way of doing this is a bar of soap, run it over the zipper a few times and it moves nice and smooth. might be a little cleaner than wd40

Chrysler has issued an "urgent action item" on the new Wranglers - just short of recall. They are now providing at no charge zipper lubricant for the rear window. FYI.

Thanks for all the help.

Found an Upholstry shop that looked at it and said I need a new zipper.

$75 for the zipper + $75 for the labor...suck, but oh well...
