Help with Body Lift

Was out over the holiday and experience some tire rub on the fender. I have been wondering what to do first with this new toy, I think I need a bodylift first. I am driving a 2005 Wrangler LJ, 12.5 x 33 tires, a 2-inch spring spacer lift, and 6 speed manual. I put on the 33's and hadn't experienced any tire rub and I ARB lockers and regearing to 4.10 at the top of my list. After this tire rub ride I have moved the 1" body-lift, and MML to the top of the list. I am looking for recommendations as to which would be best and of course what I should be expecting in addition to the cost of the body-lift kit, and what other mods I should be making to do the body-lift, MML properly.

Thanks,

Ken V.

Oops, bumpstops.... If you have and suggestions that would get me all of these in a single kit....And, would any of your 'Suggested Tech Readings' (very informative by the way) be helpful....

Thanks,
Ken V.

To me, a 2" suspension lift and a 1" body lift is marginal with 33" tires. My recommendation for a Jeep that actually goes offroad with 33" tires is 4" of total additional clearance for the tires which can be obtained by a combination of a suspension and body lift. My favorite combination to achieve 4" is with a 3" suspension lift and 1" body lift. I would not install a 2" body lift to achieve that with a 2" suspension lift, I'm definitely no fan of 2" (or 3") body lifts. They are more trouble to install than most people realize.

UnlimitedLJ04, thank you for the reading, I will be using it.

Jerry, I agree with you 100% that the 1" bodylift and 3" suspension lift is the best way to get to 4" of lift recommended for 33" tires. I plan on a 3" lift in the early spring however, at this time the 1" body and MML is all that is in the budget. I am wondering what is involved in a 1" bodylift and MML? Shift linkage changes? Radiator, fan shroud, etc.

I plan on a 3" suspension lift, a tummy tuck, and lockers both front and rear. I believe I can do this bodylift 1" and MML with no other modifications, however if that is incorrect please advise me. I would like to do these things in small financial increments if possible. When I do the 3" suspension lift will I have to change drivelines, add SYE, etc. Will tummy tuck have to be done at this time? I just don't want to have to take a step back to go forward if you know what I mean.

Thanks.
