Help with hesitation

Okay...TIA for reading and commenting

My 2001 4 cyl auto has developed a problem with hesitating when I try to accelerate from a stop. Also....when at a stop, it revs all of a sudden and tries to jump forward. To complete the problem, after I start up and accelerate to the stop sign in the parking lot of my apt. complex, it will sometimes just die as i brake to a stop.....any ideas?

THanks again for reading

fuel pump is my first guess but I could be wrong. or maybe injectors... get some fuel system cleaner like SeaFoam from the auto store and put the whole can in your gas tank. that stuff usually works damn good for cleaning out systems. good luck and let us know how it goes.
