I am pretty new to jeeps even though ive had a 2.4L 2005 wrangler for a while. I recently purchased a new jeep which is a 2003 wrangler x and it is a 4.0L inline 6. With the new 6 cylinder I am finally ready to make some upgrades to it, (never bothered with the 4 cylinder because i always knew i wanted a 6). I am currently considering the Rubicon Express 3.5" short arm lift and would like to know everything i would need to get/do to my jeep so it would support this comfortably. As of right now it is completely stock and im planning on putting 33" tires on it with 15" rims so any advice concerning A/T tires would be welcome as well. I mainly want to know if when i buy the lift kit, i will need to purchase other goodies with it or if it is complete enough that i dont need to purchase anything but the lift. I will be getting the one with the shocks included unless somebody tells me to purchase them separately. I have a dana 35 unfortunately and i would post pictures but i am currently sick and in bed as i type this but either tomorrow or the next day i should be feeling better and be able to work on my new toy
Might want to post a link to the kit you are planning on so you can get better answers, but just off the top of my head, I would say you're going to need an SYE, and double carden drive shaft for a 3.5" lift if there is no transfer case drop and/or motormount lift. And the tc drop is kind of counter productive anyway.
As long as you get adjustable arms and opt for Bilsteins or the OMEs. You'll probably need the adj. rear trackbar too. In this price range, give Gerald at Savvy a call and he could set you up with an awesome lift that would actually address everything needed and would work well. Boom. <-Shocks aren't included but they do sell the ones you would need.
