Help with my Tail light!

The driver side Tailight in my 2005 Wrangler Sport is out, my blinker and brake light work and I thought they were the same bulb. I just replaced the bulb, did I get the wrong bulb, I got an 1157...or am I just missing something?

Please help

Thanks

I do not think that the tail light is loose...I may have used the wrong bulb...I have a 1157 in both the spot for the blinker and brake light and the reverse light...I am just not sure why the blinker would work but the tail light doesnt, the brake light works...arent they the same bulb or am I mistaken?

hello, tail light bulbs with dual use have two filiments in them. one is for turn and stop and one is for run or parking. if you have the rite bulb you will see two filiments in the bulb and two contacts on the bottom. the blinker cancels the brake light as you are braking and have the turn single on hence the blink and not a steady burn like the other side. also you will see the brass pins on each side of the bulbs casing will be stagard in hieght one a bit higher then the other. spray your socket with some crc contact cleaner and put an electrical grade grease on them and also on the under side of the fender you should see the plug for the tail light unplug it and clean and grease it also this should clear it up.

Check the bulb number in the other side and match them up. Using a dual filament bulb in a single filament socket causes feed back problems. You must use the correct bulbs.
