help with squeky passenger door

I got a 2004 tj 3 months ago. Its the green one on my profile and I love it. I removed the soft top and put on a bikini top but now the passenger door sounds loose when I drive on dirt roads. The noise is coming from where the door closes onto the round u shaped bracket, not from the hinges. Is there a way to adjust and make this tighter so so it dont rattle? I think this jeep gave me ocd and need to fix. Thx

If your talking about the plastic things that helps hold the soft top on yes because I dont think the bikini top will fit with them on because the velcro that holds the bikini on is a long strip that wraps around the robar. But I can give it a try anyways. The door did not make noise with them on. Thanks for replying.

To answer your question regardless of diagnosis on the cause of the noise in question: You can adjust the door latch at the jamb by loosening the two bolts/screws, moving the latch, retightening the bolts/screws.

I put the plastic surrounds back on and the noise stopped again. But I will also tighten the door latch.

Today the bikini top also fit even with the plastic surrounds on. I owned a 1994 yj before this 2004 tj and am still getting used to the difference. It seems like every few days im stuck on something that turns out so simple.

Thx for the help.
