Help With TPS Please

Hey Everyone.. I have been having some idle and reving issues with my 97 TJ and 2.5 Engine. . I had it plugged in and it said improper TPS voltage.. So I went to my local Canadian Tire to pick one up.. When I brought it home and pulled the old one out, mine had round prongs on the inside and the new one was flat. Also the plastic piece that the plug attaches to on the outside was different.. Am I doing something wrong???

Any suggestions as to why they are different? I double checked with the guys there and they said that the one they gave me was right... Little confused.

Thanks for the help!

Dezi

Well good luck getting the correct one. I would just say be sure they are giving you one for the proper year and engine size.

Are they a Jeep dealer or a parts house. I only buy electrical parts from a Jeep dealer.

If your jeep was built in 96-early 97 it could have a sensor from a 95...
Have the parts guy pull the 95 sensor and check it.

Yep, you need a sensor from a '95.
