hi idle

I have a 97 4.0l automatic and I have noticed that lately after driving her for a while and I put it in N or P the rpm sits close to 1500rpm. After a few moments I can burp the throttle and it will drop back to a normal idle speed. Any ideas?

Your TPS isn't telling the ECM when the throttle closes.
