Hi, I am working on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler, 4.0L, Auto.
The Jeep idles fine about 99% of the time except, very rarely, when I put the transmission in park, the idle will raise to about 1500. I know that the idle is supposed to raise some when you go from drive to park, but not this much. Its hard to know whats causing it because it happens so seldom. What could be causing the high idle, that only malfunctions occassionaly? Thanks for any help. Oh, and it does it with the A/C turned off, so its not compensating for the compressor load.
