Hissing from the gas tank

I have a hissing sound from the gas tank fill hose area when i opened the plastic flap on the bottom of the body i found a small hose with a plastic piece at the end of it and that where the sound is coming from i cant quite tell is its blowing or sucking air but can someone tell me what it is and if it should be doin that or not? Hope the pics give a clear view of what it is

That appears to be the vent line for your rear diff. Don't think it should be hissing though?!?!?!

It is probably sucking. Check your fluid in the diff, it might be really low.

Does the gas tank have a breather hose and the diff fluid is less then a month old and when the vehicles not moving the diff should have a static pressure
