Hmm am I missing a part??

So I bought a used 2000 TJ.. its awesome... however as I was looking into the engine bay to check the air filter to make sure it was still in decent shape i notice where the air comes into the airbox a hole.... and it made me wonder is there suppose to be a tube of some sort that feeds down by the front grill from here??.. It just looked odd to me...

Anyone have a pic of the engine bay of a 2000 tj 4 cylinder??

THANKS!

The stock airbox comes with a horn shaped thing on it like this:

Some people take them off because they think it increases air flow.

Jeep Wrangler TJ Inktake Dyno - A Day On the Dyno
Debunking some 4.0L myths

Excerp:

The Nitty Gritty

While we had a day, a Jeep, and a Dyno, we tested various things. We've been telling people to remove the air horn on the stock airbox for some power increase for some time now. Well, we tested that, too. It turns out that no power was made from that modification. Perhaps the biggest gain is from an improved intake tube. The Airaid kit uses the stock intake tube.
