hey guys i came accross this guy that is building this bumper for tjs. It is made of 3/16" steel and all joints are mig welded and grinded down. The only bad part is that it is unfinished, so i would have to rattle can it or maybe get bedliner sprayed on it. The good news is that it is only $200 and it will accept all winch plates. Just wanted to see what you guys thought before i pulled the trigger on it.
no going to take a look at it saturday. It is supposed to be no drilling/welding installation. I had my eye on the smittybuilt bumper but i kind of like to be different, at least you would not pull up to one just like this one anytime soon.
sweet how did you finish it, and how did it turn out for you? I was thinking about just using satin black spray paint, i mean if you look at the stock tj bumper not like it is real flashy. I thought at least that way i could always touch it up every once in awhile or if i scratched it.
Sand it clean it primer it. wet sand it clean it spray it with about 10 coats of black. Then a a few coats of clear and it will hold up for a good while. OR take it over to the local powdercoater and have then do it for 50 bucks.
