Hot floor

So, I know Jeeps are known to have hot floor boards, but I've had mine for almost two years now and have not had any issues with excessive floor heat until today. Even with the carpeting with the foil heat reflecting stuff in it was still really hot, pretty much like the heater was blasting (which it wasn't).

I've reached down and felt the doghouse after running the thing in the summertime with no carpeting and it was only slightly warm. But today the carpeting was hotter than the metal has ever been. I think I should be concerned. Yes? No? Maybe?

Im no expert but it might be a clogged CAT? Maby that is producing more heat now then it was before. Dont quote me just figured i would mention it.

Crawl under and check the trans tunnel from the bottom. I believe there is supposed to be a heat shield covering the whole area; sounds like yours may be missing/damaged.
