How can I find out my gear ratio? Axle?

I think its like 4.10, but I dont know.
Its a 97 Wrangler 2.5 with a stick.
How can I identify axle and ratio?

There should be a metal tab on the diff. cover. It will have the specs.

My truck had a sticker in the glovebox with all the build info.

so does your jeep just not in the glove box. go to the front of your jeep and look staight down the front of the grill. on the left side there "should be" a little metal tag screwed to your jeep ...your build codes are on that.

but MoZ is right the easiest way to tell your gear ratio is to just look at your rear differental cover.



there will be several nubers on the tag. the first three numbers are your gear ratio.

If its a 97 SE with a 5 speed its 4.10.

You can also send an email off to Jeep customer service asking for a build sheet.
They will email you back in a day or 2 with a list of everything that came equipped on your Jeep from the factory.
