how far can you strech the wheelbase in the front

I am in the middle of replacing both the axles in my jeep, (8.8 rear hp30 front artec trusses). I am also ordering some tubing and the required material from currey to make my own control arms.

my question is how far can i stretch the front wheelbase with all the stock components? i know it may only be 2" or so at max but has anyone out there had any luck moving the front axle more?

pics would also be appreciated of front stretches (looking for detailed suspension / steering / sway bar / control arm)

I don't know that it's realistic to move the front axle forward any at all with even aftermarket adjustable length control arms. You get into issues like clearances, front driveshaft length, steering shaft length, upper coil spring bucket location, track bar mount, etc.

Determine full bump, place the axle there, and move it as far forward as you can until something touches. That's the furthest you're going to get it. In the end, that will be less than 1" further forward than stock and that's if you have optimized clearance between the diff cover, track bar and tie rod.

In other words, notta.

i would like to get as close to a 100" wb as possible, stretching the rear is not as much of an issue but the front of mine does look like its sitting back a bit maybe its just me though

Be wary of anyone who has told you they cheated a few inches of wheelbase out of the front until you see their rig and look at the upper spring perches.

If both perches are in the same location and the spring is straight up and down, all they did was move it back to stock.

The most effective but slightly labor intensive way to do it is to get some spring perches for the axle that are centered on the tubes which will get you an easy 1 3/4" of forward axle movement with little mods to much else.

What will a 100" do for you?
