How strong are my axles?

hi,

some months ago i bought a new 06 TJ with a D30 in the front and a D44 in the rear.
i also ordered the "offroad package" that was available as an extra here in germany. that incuded a 3.73 gear (normal german TJs have a 3.07 gear), a rear trac lock and some HD axles.
but i couldn´t find anything about these axles.
how strong are they?
how big tires can i install without damaging the axles when i drive off the road?

thanks for your answer and greets from germany.

I have the same setup in my 01 Sport,

D30 front D44 rear and 3:73 gears..

its my daily driver on 33 x 12.50 x 15's

I also have Aussie lockers front and rear.

I have the 5 speed in this one.

Nicolas,

I run that same setup in my TJ with a 4:1 Tcase and 35" tires. 35's are pretty much the upper limit of what you want to run on a D30, but the rear axle takes most of the brunt. Upgrading the front shafts to Chromoly's and stronger joints is highly suggested. For myself, I just carry spares and the tools to change them.

Safely 33's front 35's rear. If you're not careless with the gas pedal the front can handle 35's.
