how to measure suspension kit

need advice on how to measure the suspension to gauge the actual size of suspension kit. Just bought an 04 TJ running 35s the previous owner thought the lift kit was a rough or tough country 4in. I didn't think a 4in kit could run 35 with so much room to spare.

Great Question

I'm in a similar situation and could really use an answer to this question. I am the 3rd owner of this Jeep. The first owner added the lift kit, and the second owner didn't have much information to give me when I bought it.

I need to replace the shocks, but I've noticed on several sites that you need to know how much lift you have so that you order the correct size shocks. Can anyone help out?

Could you show us some pictures of the suspension and maybe one or two from further away showing the whole Jeep?

I'll have to take some additional pictures and post them, but if you click on my name and go to my Public Profile, you can then look at my Jeep Profile and see a couple of pictures there.

I'll try to get some pictures of the suspension tomorrow.

Thanks!

Mainly what we'll need to see is a pic of the front axle, straight on, and of the coil springs/shocks area. Prob be able to tell you about anything you need to know from those.

I don't see any kind of body lift. It does seem like a lot of space around those tires for it to be only a 4" lift IF those are really 35's.

Ok. I'll try to get those pictures posted tomorrow. The tires are 32" BFG's.

I've got the same issue.. They told me it's a 4" suspenssion lift and I can see a Ranchro rs5255 logo on the shocks. I want to find out if it is a true 4" lift and I'm trying to find out a brand of springs

Are those coil lengths as installed or uninstalled? If installed, the actual measured length is going to be dependent on the load (weight in the vehicle)
