HVAC Blower

So we were sitting in traffic Saturday night about 11 PM and it was hot and humid out so we had the A/C on. After about 10 minutes it stopped blowing, luckily traffic started just a few minutes later and we were able to get cooled off.

I'm going to replace the blower, resistor and switch, no I don't care if it's only one of the components, I'm replacing all of them. I know there is power to the relay, I've checked it and I can hear it clicking. I know the A/C still works properly as well.

What brand blower will be the best one to get? It looks like they are all around $50 so cost isn't a concern. Any recommendations on the switch and resistor?

It's only going to get hotter down here in the tropics and I can see using the A/C more often in the next 3 months so I'd like to get this fixed in the next couple of days.

Other than OEM, I don't know of any other types of blower motors. Just means I don't know of any others but there may be. From the many posts on this subject, it seems that the motors themselves are rarely the problem. It's usually either the resistor pack or the fan switch, which has a tendency to melt. I replaced the resistor pack on my '05 TJ last year and its worked fine ever since. Good luck.

Thanks guys.

So OEM blower from a dealer, I may rethink replacing it once I get the price lol.

Resistor and switch will be ordered from Amazon, an particular brand(s) I shouldn't get?

Thanks, I forgot about wermopar and I've had it bookmarked for a while.

A friend of mine that I've known since high school is the parts manager at a Dodge dealership not too far away, I'm going to give him a call and see what he can do for me.
