HVAC Damper Control Problem

Hi Wrangler People.

I am new to the site and I'm glad I found it. I'm hoping someone can help me with my HVAC damper selector control (if that's what it can be called). It doesn't matter what position it's in, I only get air out of the defroster vents (at the windshield and the vents for the side windows) and a very little bit at the floor. All the tubing looks to be in good shape to the damper box and from what I can tell, all the tubing is connected to the selector switch. I looked under the hood for loose or disconnected tubing and didn't see anything, but I'm sure I'm not looking in the right place. Does this sound like avacuum issue, or perhaps electronic. I bought a Haynes Jeep repair manual, but it looks old. and is not very thorough. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

Check the plastic arms on the vacuum actuators under the dash on the driver side. There are three of them. I am dealing with this same issue right now and made basically the same post you did a few days ago. I only got 2 replies. Good Luck!

Wink

look under the dash on the passenger side right above your feet, you should see a cable connected to a lever, make sure the clip didn't break off. if it did just zip tie it on and see if that cures your problem.

Hey, thanks. I'll take a look. I just hate the thought of driving an hour and a half, then bringing my vehicle into the local dealer, for something silly that I could have fixed.

Thanks again.

I had this problem with my 05 unlimited. I found the line was off after the T, going into the engine. I put it back on and it was fixed. Thanks for putting the information on here. It was a big help.
