HVAC Vacuum issue or switch?

So one of my rubber elbows was worn out and leaking and I realized I couldnt select AC, floor vent, or shut off the unit etc. The fan blew even when the selector was turned to the off position. After replacing elbows and using some zip ties to tighten up and checking everything the selector became more firm when moving it between positions but still doesn't change the vent and work correctly. Suggestions of other things to check before I start throwing money at it?? Thanks guys

Pop the selector knob off and see if its cracked where it mounts. If so replace.

Wish it was that simple bro. I'm gonna pull the dash and start checking vacuum lines. The knob is perfect and the switch/selector seems fine as well. I'm 99 percent sure this is a vacuum issue

If the fan blows when the mode switch is off then there is a problem with the mode switch. It is a 2 part switch, the electrical which switches the a/c compressor & the fan & the vacuum control that routes the vacuum to operate the doors that direct the air & temp. Since the electrical is not working properly the vacuum part may be bad as well especially since it is turning harder than it used to.
