idk if this is a big problem...

sometimes when im driving (mostly when im in 1st and 2nd gear) the engine like boggs down in a wom..wom...wom..wom and cant really accelerate unless i push the pedal to the metal for a second.. im not sure what it is, but is this a potential big problem? my dad who is a mechanic told me not to really worry about it right now. but im the only one who has exprienced the problem.

If it's not running right it's a problem and needs attention. I don't know what wom..wom...wom is LOL but I can give you a place to start. My engine lost a lot of power a while back and I had to rev it high to keep it from sputtering. I pulled off the spark plug wires and where the cyl. # 3 wire connects to the coil, was all rusted. Water must have got into the boot and the cylinder was misfiring but not bad enough to throw a code. It could be many things and we need some more info in order to help. I see you have a 97 so I believe you have a distributor so check that as you don't have a coil.

Anyone who can legally own a firearm can carry it concealed in Vermont with no permit/license

Sounds like a good time to give the Jeep a once over. I would start with checking or replacing things like the air filter and spark plugs, and clean out the Throttle Body.
Bite the hand that feeds you . . . you've had more than enough to eat already.

Pull off your distributor wipe it down, get all moisture out, and spray some brake cleaner in it.. I had what seems to be the same problem not long ago, friend and I pulled the distributor off, got napkins from his f350 and wiped it down, like new again, didn't have brake cleaner with me but once I got home I sprayed it in there..

Something to try.

You can replace (do it yourself of course) your spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, all for about $60. There is a good chance that will fix your issues. That goes for you too, BackseatBandit.

Its a good idea to check your air filter and clean out your throttle body too.....
