I know this comes up a lot, I've done a lot of searching and have some work to do this weekend but wanted to see if anyone had anything else to offer.
About a month ago my wife went to start the jeep and she said it would start and would stall out. After a few tries she gave up and then several minutes later I went out and started it right up, sounded a little rough at idle but then evened out where it was supposed to. I did clean the throttle body and that seemed to do the trick no more problems.
It's done the stalling at low idle a few times but then seems to go away.
I was driving home yesterday on the interstate and went from 70mph to 10 or so and I noticed my idle was higher than normal (1500), then later in the drive I hit traffic again and the idle was much lower than normally (500).
Today I can get the jeep to start as long as I'm opening the throttle. At first driving this morning anytime I would idle the jeep would try to stall. Now it's not trying to stall but is still idling much lower than normal.
I cleaned the throttle body a little already but I'm sure it's something else. I'm gonna take off the whole throttle body when I get home and also clean the IAC module. I picked up a new TPS in case that doesn't work and then it'll be on to the MAP sensor.
After that I'm thinking vacuum leak?
I know this is redundant but just seeing if anyone else has dealt with this and can save me some time with a remedy.
