Idler Pulley

I think my idler pulley is seizing up. I can hear a sequel from time to time and i can see rubber or belt material on the pulley.

Looks easy to replace my question is, is there one brand that's better then others what brand should i be looking to buy?

I changed mine a couple of months ago and just picked one up at Auto Zone, whatever they had on the shelf, no problems. If I remember right it was around $15.00 and a very easy swap. Scooby

Is your belt shredding ? if so look at the harmonic balancer on the end of the crankshaft [the bottom most pulley on the front of the engine] they also tend to go, when they do they either start walking in towards the timing cover or out towards the radiator, thats a $60 part. As a rule of thumb, all my idlers get replaced whenever I do the belt. You can save the old one and replace the bearings keeping it for a spare, the bearings are around $5 or so.

its easy to change and the part is cheap. I replaced mine only to discover it was actually the tension pulley. So i got one of those off of ebay cheap.
