So, my A/C hasn't been working since I bought my Jeep last year, and I'm getting tired of it. So, my A/C is fully charged, the clutch engages and disengages regularly, not abnormally fast or slow. The metal tubes get ICE COLD. But.... my air blows the same temperature as the air outside.
My heat does blow warm, but not HOT. My friend's TJ's blow much hotter than mine has even considered blowing.
Anyone know what this could be?
I have noticed that if I run the A/C on recirculate there will be condensation dripping into my passenger side footwell. I thought it may have been coolant dripping as I have seen in other threads, but it is just water. Checked the color and smell. It's a perfectly clear liquid.

Could be your "blend" door that mixes hot and cold air. I read the older TJs have a cable that attaches from the slide lever on the dash to the blend door under the dash on the passenger side. Newer TJs have an electronic actuator that moves the door when you turn the hot/cold knob on the dash.
Also, if you have water dripping under the dash...there could be a couple of causes. A partially stopped up drain, a hole somewhere in a pipe, etc.
Most definitely your blend door.......get under dash.. and look as someone else moves lever from hot to cold and see if it is moving on the outside...... if it is..... get on the inside and look.

Doesn't seem like the cable to the blend door would be the issue if your slider goes all the way in both directions and has any affect. You can check the cable by looking under your glove box on the left side. You'll see a cable connected to a white plastic paddle which is pushed against a metal lever, for cold make sure all the cable is pulled out of the bottom there.
I agree that it's probably a blend issue since you're getting cold and even having condensation dropping in, but it doesn't sound like the actual cable is the issue. Keep us posted!
Your heat problem may be cured also, if the blend door was stuck you would only be getting partial hot air flow from the heater core.
As for the water on the floor, open you hood, follow the A/C lines to the firewall.
Look below then for a tube about 3/4" in diameter poking out of the fire wall. It should have a rubber elbow on it. Nothing else is attached to it. Pull the elbow off, and watch you don't get drenched. If water pours out the elbow is blocked. It has a flapper type end on it and can get plugged up. This allows the water to back up into the evaporator case, until it overflows onto the floor. Clean out the elbow and you should be good to go. Also if there is a lot of water backed up in the case, it will reduce your cooling and heating temps.

God I miss that Jeep. Forgot the kinda Jeep, 80 SX4.
Heater core is in the box the blend door is in. Not easy to get to. Have to take dash off and if have A/C, disconnect those lines as well. I replaced mine in my 01 and took me 4 hrs to get to HVAC box. The replacement I got came from O'riles and cost $65 with lifetime warranty.
There are some great write ups on how to get to the heater core. Biggest issue is keeping track of all the small screws and where they go. I only had two extra. So I felt pretty good.
