Interior Lights Not Right

So when I open either door all of the interior lights come on. But the twist knob on the turn signal stalk does nothing. I assume that this should adjust brightness of the dash lights and turn on the interior lights. I don't have the manual. But the switch does nothing. Is this switch known to go bad? Is there a fuse someplace that needs to be replaced? It's not a big deal just semi annoying and I'd like to fix it. Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

turn the headlight switch on the dash to adjust the brightness of the panel lights and turn on the dome light.

They must have changed between 99 and 2001.

Yes. Not saying this is the actual problem you have but yes the multi-function stalk is known to fail in the TJ....i replaced mine a few months ago but my problem was totally different: the fog lights would come on by themselves......Autozone sells new stalks for $70 and there is a thread on this forum that describes the install process which is super simple.
