Is it time for new clutch?

For the past two days I've noticed that when pulling out of 1st gear from a stop that my clutch feels like it's not there. When letting off the clutch there's very little tension and doesn't pull like it used to. There's no feeling of grip when letting it out. It still works, just doesn't feel right. Kinda hard to explain, but there's an off-road event coming up this weekend where I am at and was wondering if I should wait until after it or get it done before the event. Also how much do you guys think it would cost to have a shop install it? I ask because it's my dd and don't have enough experience/ time to try and do it myself and having it done by them would be faster.
