Is there an adjustment on 5 speed clutch

A question ,
Now that I can drive my toy, the clutch must need replaced. It is hard to put it in gear sometimes. It also grinds unless you wait a couple of seconds before shifting. No I dont speed shift either. I use to be into 5.0 mustangs and you can adjust the slack in them, is the jeep the same? Or is it time for a new clutch.

No adjustment, check for leaks, one of two things, either the slave/master cylinder is going or the tranny sychros are gone. The AX trannies need GL3 lube, GL5 lube which is high in sulphur will eat the bronze sychros. Redline MT90, Amsoil synthetic or Penzoil synchromesh will work or the $19 a quart mopar dino byproduct lube..

Try "pumping the clutch , then go for 1st. Could need a clutch, make sure to do the slave at the same time.
Try putting it into 2nd before going into first and forth before reverse. Im not sure what it does but it works on mine. Maybe it slows the trans down or something.

I have always put the transmission into second before putting the transmission into first. When I am getting ready to use reverse I put the transmission into second then shift into revers. I am not sure why but this seems to work-makes it easier to shift into the desired gear.
