Is this a Dana 44 or 30 or something else?

G'day guys

On this Wrangler I'm buying tonight it has this for a rear axle

Is this a Dana 44 or 30?

Pretty sure its a Dana 44 but looks a little like that of the 30 . Its a 1997 TJ Sport , 4.0 I6 5spd manual.

Really need to know , could be a deal breaker , it is a Dana 44 right?

I'm 99.5% positive it's a D44. The shape and the metal plug are telling me it's a D44.

That's a Dana 44. It does kinda-sorta look like a Dana 30 but a Dana 30 will only be up front.

Whatever it is, it needs a seal, bc it's leaking rear end fluid and slinging it everywhere.

Thanks Jerry. I was pretty sure the D30 was only up front too, but my 0.5% of uncertainty was because InfernoGirl was already asleep. She knows so much more about all things Jeep than I and I'm OK with that. All husbands should be so lucky.
