Is This Rust ???

Look at the area underneath the door.
Is that rust? Or is it just dirty?

It looks like it may just be where he previously had side steps or running boards installed.

Does this look like something I should be worried about?

The seller is going to take more pictures later today of the undercarriage.

Surface rust does not look to bad but would need to see some more Pixs to determin how bad it is.

Looks like surface rust but a closer better quality pic will help.

If its surface rust, a few hrs with a wire brush and some rattle can paint will help

Looks like my rear frame. Would bet it's surface rust. A POR-15 kit would make it good as new.

The frames on TJ's rust. It's a known fact. I wouldn't be that concerned - but try to keep it to a minimum and fix it up as much as possible since once it's truly damaged you wouldn't pass any inspections and it poses a safety issue.

If its surface rust on the outside your ok. You can pretty much take care of that. What I would be concerned about is if there is any rotting of the frame on the inside !!

I looked at around 8 different jeeps in a month and a half's time which all looked somewhat good on the outside of the frame but were rotting out on the inside. I finally found the one I just bought with a solid frame and body.

You really need to lay down on your back and check inside the openings of that frame before you settle on it !!!
