It just won't start!

Drove to work this morning no problem... had to run an errand about 1:30 and my 2003 Wrangler wouldn't start. The interior lights came on, radio, heater... everything worked, but nothing in the engine. I didn't hear a click or anything.

So, I push-started (went downhill, popped into second gear) and took off fine. Drove to my errand, let it run about 20 minutes, got back to work, turned it off... dead again.

Had to push-start again to get home. Ran a couple errands, let it run the whole time. Went to Auto Zone to check the battery, and the tester showed the battery was dropping when a charge was put on it.

So... I bought a battery. Came home, put it on, went to start it (light all came on, radio, etc.)... and nothing. AGAIN!!

Anyone have any suggestions on what I could/should do? I am afraid to try and roll-start it again, because it would be a one-shot take. I'd have to leave it out in the road, which wouldn't be good.

could be a starter, need to check if power is going to the signal wire at the starter when in the crank position. takes two people and a test light, if power is there with key in crank, and starter isn't cranking, starter is no good. if no power signaling the starter, then gotta check fuses, relays, and ignition switch.

Bypass the clutch safety switch and see if that is the problem.

Above the clutch pedal is a switch with two wires going to it. Pull the wires off and jump it with a paperclip. If it starts replace the switch. Some people will leave it jumped but it will start in gear and run off on you.

There's no fuse in that spot. Should I pull a match from another location and put in there?
