Jeep steering loose

So my steering has always been a little loose and it only got worse when I added bigger tires. I have found that when I turn my wheel, everything is tight right up until the steering box. I want to replace it with a '98 durango box. Will the fix the issue?

I think you'll like the Durango box. I have it. Rebuilt boxes can be hit or miss. I ordered mine from Mopar, knowing it would be rebuilt; I figured I would have the best chance at getting a good one. It has worked well for me.

If i we're to do it again i would get a used one if it was real cheap; and just swap it again if it wasn't any good.

So there's a possibility that putting in a reman box could still give me the same problem?

I got a reman Durango box from orielly's (Cardone) and it didn't leak at all, but had lots of play in it. I returned it and ordered a borgeson box from PSC. Hoping that turns out better! I've heard mixed reviews on reman boxes. Seems to be hit or miss.
