jeep tj tranny won't shift after rebuild

o.k. here is my problem.....i rebuilt my ax15 with new synchros and bearings and used mobile1 75-90 synthetic fluid. i have it together and it runs through the gears just fine. So i recently put it in the jeep and started it up. with the jeep running i can't engage it into gear at all unless i throw the transfer case into nuetral. I strongly doubt that the problem is the clutch, being that i installed a new clutch and throwout bearing 2 months prior to pulling the tranny out for rebuild. However, i did not replace the slave cylinder. i have been wracking my brain and have come up with no possible cause of this problem. Could it be the slave cylinder not engaging the clutch enough to shift the tranny while running?? or is it some other problem? the transfer case and clutch worked aok before i pulled the tranny. Or is there something wrong with the tranny itself? please help.....
