jeep won't start

It took a second to fire up then drove just fine. then the next time i went to start it- nothing. It's not the battery. i did the on off trick and the code read p0645, thats the AC clutch relay. Replaced it and still nothing. I think it's the starter, but has anybody else experienced this?

OK in the other thread you said it is cranking Jeep wont start to be exact. So which one is it?

Cranking not starting?
Not cranking at all?

It helps to not start multiple threads for one problem.

then if you are 100% sure it is not the battery connections then take a look at the actuator pin

Roll started it and got it to a guy two days ago. I'm thinking it's the starter. I should hear back on it soon. I'll let you know big sarge. Thanks!

I realize that you have already taken it to someone for diagnosis, but may I ask how you know that it is not the battery? What measures did you take to rule it out?

Your battery may have enough amperage to operate your gauges and lights but unless you have 14 amps, you're not going to get it to turn over much less start. This is often overlooked because of the items you just mentioned or because you had no sign that the battery was going, but it is pretty common for it to just quit without warning.

I will have to take a look at my tj but on some not so old cars a quick way to tell if battery or starter ( starter connection) is turn your headlights on and hit start if the lights don't dim you have a bad starter or starter connection. The connections include the ground from engine block to battery.
Newer vehicles shut the lights off when starting that why I mentioned older.

Chock your wheels. Put the transfer case in neutral and transmision in neutral. On your started there will be a small wire and a big wire. Take a piece of wire and connect the two. The starter will engage if it's good leave the key in the off position

Yes sir it is. Was only without it 5 days. I had another vehicle to drive too. Glad it wasn't anything major.
